In the Kunming-Montreal Accord, the 196 member countries of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) set themselves the mission of "halting and reversing the loss of biodiversity by 2030". To achieve this goal, countries will have to tackle the key issue of mainstreaming biodiversity into the most impacting sectors of economic activity.
Implemented by IUCN and WWF France, coordinated by Expertise France and financed by AFD, the BIODEV2030 project has been experimenting with a mainstreaming method based on science and multi-stakeholder dialogue since late 2019. The project's 16 pilot countries have relied in particular on multi-stakeholder dialogue platforms to get private-sector players to commit to changing their practices.
What are the main advantages of the BIODEV2030 method for getting stakeholders to commit to biodiversity? What lessons can be learned so that others can adopt it? How can this experience contribute to the implementation of the global biodiversity framework?
After 3 years of implementation, the partners in the BIODEV2030 project will set out to answer these questions during an event packed with testimonials, round-table discussions and the sharing of experiences of players in the field who have experimented with this approach.

How can we effectively identify and classify the main threats to biodiversity? What are the levers to facilitate the appropriation of diagnostic results by stakeholders? How can multi-stakeholder dialogue platforms be set up and run to mobilize stakeholders effectively?
The project partners will seek to answer these questions through the testimony of stakeholders from BIODEV2030 countries, and the discussion of key lessons learned.

BIODEV2030 set itself the goal of achieving voluntary sectoral commitments. In light of this initial ambition, what are the results of the project? What difficulties were encountered?
