At the end of 2022, a survey was carried out among players in the 16 countries involved in the project. The aim was to gauge their satisfaction and perception of the project, its principles and its main results. In the form of an online questionnaire, the survey was deployed by project managers during the final dialogue workshops.
The following highlights emerge from this survey:
- participants are generally satisfied with the project and the approach adopted to achieve voluntary commitments, with an average of 93% satisfied and very satisfied.
- 93% of respondents are convinced of the need to involve and mobilize the private sector in planning and policy decisions concerning the protection and preservation of biodiversity.
- More than two-thirds of respondents felt that the project had helped mobilize the private sector.
- Respondents seem to agree more on voluntary commitments built up at regional level via a cross-sectoral approach, rather than at national level for a specific sector.
- The project has only partially improved knowledge of biodiversity issues and sectoral integration. 46% of the 141 respondents reported a positive change.

- The vast majority of respondents agreed that the sectors chosen in their country have a major impact on biodiversity and will make a major contribution to the national economy both now and in the decades to come. However, some reservations were expressed about the potential for reducing the negative impacts of these sectors on biodiversity.
